Welcome Center

The St. Mary's County Welcome Center is located near our Northern Gateway.  Make it your first stop, your last stop or a desintation in and of itself.  You'll find lots of information on all there is to see and do plus where to stay.  You'll also find friendly staff to answer your questions.

The area around the Welcome Center has a rich history. The center is located in former residence of the Charlotte Hall Military Academy's headmaster.  A Star-Spangled Banner Byway and Trail koisk provides information on War of 1812 sites throughout the region. Adjacent to the center is Ye Coole Springs, the multi-use Three Notch Trail, and the Charlotte Hall Veterans' Home.  Just down the road (or take the trail), you'll find the Charlotte Hall Library.  During the growing season the library's grounds become a lively Amish and Mennonite farmers' market.
