United States Colored Troops Memorial Monument
The monument is dedicated in grateful tribute to the United States Colored Troops of St. Mary's County and honors the two USCT soldiers from St. Mary's County, Sgt. James H. Harris and Pvt. William H. Barnes, who were awarded Medals of Honor. The monument includes a bronze statue and a wayside marker. Over 600 USCT from St. Mary's County served in the war. Both freemen and slaves joined the fight.
