On Thursday, March 25, 2021, join St. Clement's Island Museum on the shores of the beautiful Potomac River for a virtual Maryland Day Ceremony to commemorate the founding of Maryland on March 25,1634 by English settlers at this very spot.
The annual Maryland Day celebration is normally a popular, in person ceremony attended by dignitaries from around the state to remember the establishment of Maryland and its tenets of toleration. This year, the ceremony is virtual, airing at 12:00 p.m. here on Facebook. Tune in then to join us in the celebration: http://bit.ly/MarylandDay2021
The museum is still welcoming the public to visit the museum on March 25, 2021 to enjoy free admission from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and free water taxi to St. Clement's Island rides all day. More info here: https://fb.me/e/3FuRvLBsz
We're working to make the museum a safe place to visit, so all visitors must wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Staff will also be masked and frequently cleaning high traffic surfaces. Sanitizer and masks will be available to the public as well.
The museum store will be open all day for shoppers and features a huge variety of Maryland and St. Mary's County themed items, as well as a wide range of apparel, games, kid's items, local books, art, souvenirs and much more.
