Potomac Jazz and Seafood Festival

Enjoy live jazz, seafood, stunning waterside vistas, and events for jazz aficionados in Leonardtown and St. Clement's Museum in gorgeous St. Mary's County across three days and venues.

The festivities begin in the early afternoon on Friday, July 8, with a welcoming event at the Inn at Leonardtown with live music, drinks, and light refreshments. Participants are encouraged to dine and shop in Leonardtown at participating stores and restaurants, some of which will feature live jazz music. The evening will culminate with a free concert on the Square at 6 p.m. by the globally acclaimed Eric Byrd Trio. The night will be topped off with an exclusive ticketed event at The Rex at 9:30 p.m.

The main event will take place on the grounds of St. Clement's Island Museum on Saturday, July 9. This year's lineup includes four incredible acts. The outstanding Howard University Jazz Quartet will open the day at 12 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., local favorite Latrice Carr will perform, followed by the always-fantastic Brian Simpson at 5 p.m. Finally, at 7 p.m., we'll hear nationally known jazz artist Kim Waters. Throughout the day, a variety of food vendors serving seafood and other Southern Maryland foods, as well as other jazzy merchants. All event attendees will receive free water taxi excursions around gorgeous St. Clement's Island, the site of the first English settlement in Maryland in 1634, as well as free museum entrance. The party continues in Leonardtown with a no-cover afterparty at Brudergarten at 10 p.m., hosted by Shepherd's Old Field Market and featuring DJ Leggzz.

On July 10 businesses in Leonardtown will organize a variety of jazz-themed activities and live music, including jazz brunches at numerous in-town restaurants, jazz events at the Port of Leonardtown Winery and other venues.

Visitors from out of town are urged to remain for the entire weekend to enjoy all of the festivities by purchasing special festival hotel packages that include hotel accommodations, festival tickets, and other amenities.
