Maryland Day

Happy Birthday Maryland! Celebrate Maryland's beginnings at the state's first colonial landing site, St. Clement's Island, and at the first colony and state capital, Historic St. Mary's City.

Historic St. Mary's City

Once a thriving, 17th-century town, Historic St. Mary's City is now a living history museum built on the foundations of the original buildings. Celebrate Maryland Day at Historic St. Mary's City on March 19 with pomp and parades, live music and presentations.

St. Clement's Island

English colonists, seeking religious freedom, first landed in Maryland at St. Clement's Island in 1634. Commemorate their landing on Maryland Day, March 24, with speakers and a wreath laying ceremony.
