Spirits for Spirits Cocktail Contest

January 27th - February 27th

Raise a glass with Leonardtown’s finest mixologists as they show off their potent potables in the Spirits for Spirits Cocktail Contest. Starting on January 27th, and throughout Moll Dyer Weekend, stop in at participating bars and restaurants to taste these original creations.

Friday, February 24th

6 pm - Spirits & Witches at Tudor Hall
The St. Mary’s County Historical Society kicks off Moll Dyer Day weekend by opening historic Tudor Hall for a lively reception featuring two dynamic speakers. Local history enthusiast and paranormal investigator Patrick Burke will offer evidence and fact as “History with a Twist”, and Baltimore-based author, speaker, and magical thinker, Michael M. Hughes will present “The History and Reality of Witchcraft in America”. Tobacco Barn’s Witches Brew and light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $50 per person for this 21 and older event. All proceeds benefit the St. Mary’s County Historical Society. Visit their site for tickets and more information.

6:30 pm - Your Fate is In Your Hands at Yellow Line Studio

Wake up your own creative spirit with an evening of palmistry-inspired art in honor of Moll Dyer! Choose to make a hand map chart of your future for $10 and/or create and paint your own hand stone for $35. Space is limited. Visit The Yellow Line for preregistration and more information about this adult activity.

8 pm - A Mystical Evening with The Evasons-Mentalist Duo at The Rex TheatreOpen your mind to the unknown and join world-renowned Mentalist Duo Jeff and Tessa Evason for an interactive mind-reading show that will leave you absolutely mystified. Recognized as one of the best mentalist acts, these award-winning psychic entertainers have performed in over 40 countries across the globe. Visit St. Mary’s MD is proud to sponsor this special performance. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the St. Mary’s County Historical Society. Tickets for this 21+ event can be purchased here.

Saturday, February 25th

11 am - Opening Ceremony at Moll Dyer Rock on the grounds of Tudor Hall

Join family, friends, and neighbors at the opening ceremony featuring Leonardtown Mayor, Dan Burris, a Moll Dyer reenactment, David Norris, and the announcement of Spirits contest winners. This event is free and open to all ages and spirits.

12-5 pm - Where’s Mary Agnes Spirit Hunt starting at The Old Jail

Put on your thinking cap and join in this puzzling game to determine where another “spirited” citizen of Leonardtown is hiding on Moll Dyer Day. This free, all-ages activity begins and ends at The Old Jail. Collect the clues throughout Town and take your best guess. Everyone who plays qualifies for prizes donated by the local business community, and one Grand Prize winner will be randomly selected from all entries that correctly figure out where Mary Agnes is hiding.

12-4 pm -Winter Games at Brudergarten

Bundle up, bring your crew and your A-game and compete in fun and silly games outdoors for prizes and bragging rights. Free for ages 21 and up.

10 am- 5 pm - Explore the Old Jail Museum
Discover new exhibits and historical artifacts at the Old Jail Museum. Admission is free. Shop the museum store's Moll Dyer merchandise, as well as other local items and paranormal books on Southern MD.

10-4 pm - MALL DYER Scavenger Hunt at Shepherd’s Old Field Market
Move through this magnificent market to find various items and qualify to win prizes. Free and fun for all ages.

6:30 pm/9 pm - Paranormal Investigation with The Burkes

Convene with the spirit world by joining renowned author and paranormal expert Patrick Burke for a Paranormal Investigation. This unique walking tour is a rare opportunity to encounter Moll Dyer and other spirit residents of Leonardtown while learning the art and science behind paranormal investigations. After a brief overview of the specialized equipment, participants will visit The Old Jail and Tudor Hall and a third location to try and discover which spirits are hanging around. The evening ends with a presentation of evidence collected during other investigations and the fascinating historical connections. Two sessions will be offered to guests 18 and older, 6:30-8:30 and 9 pm-11 pm. Space is limited, and this unique event will sell out again this year. Purchase tickets here.
