Elm’s Beach Park

Five hundred feet of shoreline with unsupervised swimming, picnicking and fishing. The park has a picnic pavilion, playground, portable restrooms, changing area and parking.

Park is open 7 AM to Sunset. No evening or nighttime activities permitted.

Fees begin for weekends only beginning the first weekend in May through Labor Day

Hunting Information: Bow Hunting Only, starting on Sept. 15 (deer hunting only). Hunting permit is required and can be obtained at the Recreation & Parks office at 23150, Patuxent Building, Leonard Hall Drive, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Only 5 hunters allowed in the hunting area at any one time and there is a sign in sheet at the park entrance. (19350 Back Door Road, Lexington Park, Md. 20653). For hunting on Elm's Beach property managed by Maryland Department of Natural Resources, please call Maryland DNR for more information and permitting at 301-743-5161.

Birding

Take Rt. 235 south to past the turn for St. Mary's City. Take Forest Landing Road (the next left). Look for park entrance on the left. A small park that connects to the county board of education environmental education property at Elms Beach. Good for edge, pine forest/shrub, marsh, beach, and bay front birding.
