Our Mission
Visit St. Mary’s MD is the official destination marketing/management organization (DMO) for Maryland’s Original Destination: St. Mary’s County. We focus on attraction development, marketing, and helping our tourism partners deliver unique visitor experiences.
Who we are and what we do
Visit St. Mary’s MD, established in 2018, is a 501c6 non-profit organization, governed by a nine-member board and three full-time staff members. We are a team of strategic thinkers, operations gurus and innovative marketers, all passionate about the visitor experience and the success of this county’s tourism economy.
We serve St. Mary’s County by:
- Publicizing the remarkable events, historical locations, cultural institutions, unique retail and local restaurants that make our county a premiere travel destination in the Mid-Atlantic region
- Providing the tools and resources our visitors and event planners need to plan an unforgettable trip to the area
- Collaborating with partners across the tourism industry to ensure we are at the forefront of leisure, business and sports travel trends
- Implementing the recommendations from the 2016 Tourism & Hospitality Master Plan
