Two monuments, one state and one federal, mark the interment site of more than 3,000 prisoners who died at Point Lookout Prisoner of War Camp. Names of those who died at Point Lookout are engraved on the federal monument, which is the only federal monument in the country erected to the Confederate soldier. The cemetery is located outside of Point Lookout State Park.
