For Businesses to be on Itineraries

We want to highlight your customer-facing businesses during one of our familiarization, or FAM, tours.

The St. Mary’s County Tourism Ambassador Program (SMCTAP) only succeeds if business partners throughout the county participate as part of the familiarization (FAM) tours.

FAM tours will typically feature one location, a food/beverage partners and an activity, such as a “Walking History & Food Tour of Leonardtown.” All types of tourism businesses are welcome to participate by hosting a tour stop or tabling at one.  Any form of engagement ensures ambassadors will give you more business and may recommend it to visitors and community members.

Participants must complete two county FAM tours to finish the program, and we are actively looking for businesses to add! Quarterly FAM tours are designed to highlight the unique assets available throughout the county, providing ambassadors an exclusive look at what makes St. Mary’s unique. Itineraries will vary throughout the year, so there is always an opportunity for you to be included.

By participating, you will receive:

  • Access to a group of highly motivated hospitality and tourism professionals, eager to promote your business
  • Sponsorship on the VSMMD website and marketing materials
  • Social media and website promotion during and following FAM tours
  • Access to marketing photos, video b-roll and pre-made social media content captured during events
  • Itineraries to be repurposed as website and social media content as suggested things to do
