There ARE fish to be caught

The striped bass season for the Potomac opens this Saturday, May 16. There should be keeper fish in the slot (19 to 24 inches) in both the shallows and deeper edges. Trollers, jiggers, and lure casters will enjoy success. The Patuxent will open up to Point Patience on May 16, and the entire river opens on June 1.
Stripers love jigs
Lure casters found rock at Cedar Point at daybreak and sunset this week. The fish hit swimming lures and jigs. Stripers were very active this week at the Power Plant this week both in the discharge and along the rocks on the shoreline.

Perch were taking bloodworms and Lug worms in the evening this week in the St. Mary's River near Church Point.
Big bass are active now.
